Phlo Realtime

Phlo Realtime gives a Phlo app realtime without a new language: the Phlo Daemon runs one transpiled handler per event. This mini-manual covers the hooks, broadcasting and socket monitoring, and continues straight from the Poll tutorial.

1Phlo Realtime overviewPhlo Realtime is the realtime layer of the Phlo platform. It lets a Phlo app push to connected browsers over WebSockets without you leaving the Phlo language: you write the same .phlo handlers you already write, and the Phlo Daemon hands each socket event to your app, as a fresh process per event or through a resident worker pool when you need the throughput. 2The four hooksPhlo Realtime calls one of four functions in your app for each socket lifecycle event. You implement only the ones you need. 3Broadcasting with wsCastwsCast is how a handler pushes to clients. It posts a message to Phlo Realtime, which fans it out to the targeted sockets, and each browser applies it through the same phlo.js apply pipeline your async routes already use. 4Socket monitoringBecause every connection passes through your hooks, you can see and manage sockets with ordinary Phlo models, no special tooling required. 5The example appThe phlo-demo-poll repository is the realtime showcase: the Poll from the tutorial(/learn) with Phlo Realtime built in.
